Janina Hescheles n\u2019a que douze ans lorsqu\u2019elle s\u2019enfuit du camp de concentration de Janowska en Pologne en 1943, et qu\u2019elle \u00e9crit dans son carnet ce qui restera un des rares t\u00e9moignages d\u2019enfants \u00e9crit au c\u0153ur de la Shoah. Le carnet est cach\u00e9 jusqu\u2019\u00e0 sa parution en 1946 \u00e0 Cracovie, mais il tombe dans l\u2019oubli et n\u2019est red\u00e9couvert qu\u2019en 2011 en Ukraine. C\u2019est le d\u00e9but d\u2019une aventure \u00e9ditoriale aux quatre coins du monde. En six ans, le carnet est publi\u00e9 en onze langues, avec un \u00e9pilogue de l\u2019auteure m\u00fbrement r\u00e9fl\u00e9chi.
