Ing\u00e9nieur des mines dans le nord-est du pays, il fait la d\u00e9couverte, en 1917, de communaut\u00e9s marranes. Au terme de huit ans d\u2019observation, il publie en 1925 un ouvrage qui fait date, o\u00f9 il dresse le portrait de ces Communaut\u00e9s marranes.
